Arrived at Manchester airport in nice time which was probably just as well as the first obstacle was encountered when we found the multi storey car park for Terminal 1 was full and we were diverted to the arrivals car park. Obviously more people leaving England than arriving, I wonder why that should be π.
Just about had time for a rushed coffee with Helen before we made our merry way to the security mayhem. You learn something every day don’t you and I really don’t think I could possibly have been expected to know that my Snickers bar was classed as a liquid ? I know it was warm in there but I’m sure it hadn’t melted that much……
If we were having a competition for the lightest bag by the way (and let’s face it, we were π) then Barbara has won hands down. We are not bitter about this at all but just wait if she dares ask us for any items she has conveniently not brought along during the next few weeks we’ll get our revenge ππ.
Not bad going for Easyjet, our flight only set off 1.5 hours late which of course caused us to miss our connecting bus from Bilbao to Irun. Well, perhaps we could get a taxi we thought ? Call us stingy but the price quoted, 200 euros for 70 miles, kind of put us off that idea so we decided to wait for the next bus.
Cathedral tomorrow morning for our first pilgrims passport stamp and then the pilgrimage proper starts. Can’t wait π.
All set to go. (And on dads birthday )
