We knew today was going to be hard as climbing 3200ft and walking nearly 17mls with a 3 ton bag on your back never sounded an easy option (and lovely, super fit June from Norway, who walked the first week earlier in the year had warned me that even though I do a lot of walking it was still going to be tough π)
However, Barbara and I were still daft enough to do the “purgatoria” route over the top. The clue was in the name really ππ. Gerald very sensibly chose to take the slightly lower route. Luckily, even though we didn’t get to our chosen Albergue (recommended by June) until 19:00 there were some beds left and even more importantly some food.
Both routes were, however, beautiful and that went some way towards makin up for a long day.
Lights out at 10 and it’s past 9:30 now so I’ll cut my writing short and make up the space with some lovely pictures (hopefully) below.
Should be a slightly easier day tomorrow π

Youβd think it would be a little cooler on the coast! I still dispute the weight of your backpack – 3 tons – really! π
