It wasn’t a good night in the Albergue last night. The beds weren’t comfortable at all and people were sooo noisy. I’m fairly sure I only got about 2 hours sleep ☹️.
However, stop the presses, and all that, when we went out yesterday evening to find somewhere to eat we came across an open church in La Caridad and actually managed to get our ‘credencials’ stamped there. I couldn’t update the blog as all lights were already extinguished in the Albergue when we returned. This was just 9:45 😲
A good walk this morning though to make up for it. Today’s the last time we’ll see the coast on this walk as we now turn inland and head South for Santiago, so once again today we plumped for the alternative coastal route via Tapia de Casariego, even though it was the slightly longer option.
No ! The odd glimpse of the sea I meant 😮
As we left the Asturia region to enter Galicia and Ribadeo we walked across the estuary on a 600m motorway bridge. Luckily we were separated by a decent fence

It feels like I’m coming home now that I’m back in Galicia and it was good to see the Camino pillars once again showing the distance to Santiago to three decimal places 🙂
180.498 km to go 🙂
We are having a day off in Ribadeo tomorrow to get our feet and legs ready for the final push, so the blog will also be having a day off. Here’s a couple more pictures just to finish off.

Shame you didn’t get too much sleep, especially as it was a near on 16 mile walk but hey, rest day now! 😊
Great to see that Barbara is alive and well and hmm hmm, enjoying a glimpse of the “coast”! 😂
Happy rest day! 😊 Sue C x

Not surprised you didn’t get a good nights sleep in the Albergue last night – looked like you had taken a wrong turning and ended up in the Ikea warehouse (:-)
